I'm considering trading in my BX23 for a shiny new B26. I could use a bit more power and capacity but still need a small er machine. To date I haven't seen any discussion about this new machine. Does anyone have any early experience with a B26?

I've heard a lot of discussion on this new Kubota, though I don't know of anyone who yet owns one.
The B26 seems to have three strikes going against it......namely the price. It is running in the mid to upper 20s........which is too high for most people.
It doesn't come with a foldable ROPS, nor a foldable canopy. At 89.5" tall, it won't fit in most ordinary garages.
Lastly, the loader is somewhat a permanent fixture, as it doesn't have a quick-tach option available.
To be quite honest, I don't believe these negative comments are fair. The B26 should be viewed as being a dedicated Tractor-loader-Backhoe (TLB), rather than a compact utility tractor. When viewed as a TLB, I believe it would get a much better reception.
The B26 offers a new loader design, deeper digging depths, more horsepower, and more weight. These are features that suit a TLB very well.

Joel you are correct as they are a nearly dedicated TLB that has no comparables when considering a compact tractor.
The plus of the three point hitch for most users is not a plus at all as they are looking for the TLB use more then for any other reason. ....

I agree, Sir.
Kubota isn't marketing the B26 as a compact utility tractor. It is being marketed as a TLB for the small contractor, or even for the large contractor who cannot get his large equipment into the average homeowner's yard.
Those who use a backhoe would never find themselves without a loader. It is necessary to have a loader to assist with filling in the ditches they dig. Therefore, the loader on a dedicated TLB never needs to be removed.
The B26 is a fine little machine. It serves a very useful purpose. It is not a Compact Utility Tractor (CUT), nor should it be compared to one.
When compared to other TLBs of the same class and weight, the B26 comes out on top. Kubota sees to it.
